California Casino Ordered Closed After Armed Tribal Showdown

chukchansi-gold-resort-casino-75x75According to reports, the US federal judge Lawrence O’Neill ordered the immediate shutdown of Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino after an armed confrontation between tribal factions with weapons which caused over 500 gamblers to flee the casino and leave their chips on the tables. Experts say that it was about time for the government to intervene and close the casino despite the economic impact. John Anderson, the sheriff of Madera County, worried that tensions between the factions would increase so he asked the government for help. The National Indian Gaming Commission also wanted to shut down the casino if it doesn’t provide audits and financial documents by the end of October.
