School Parents to Challenge Ohio Slots

ohio-skyline-75x49An anti-gambling group of school parents and recovering problem gamblers asserted its standing to challenge the decision by Gov. John Kasich to legalize slot-style video lottery terminals and use proceeds for non-educational purposes. On Friday the conservative Ohio Roundtable announced that it is of mutual beneficial interest for both school parents and gambling addicts to follow Ohio’s rules and laws. According to the lawsuit, the decision made by the governor violates the Ohio Constitution because the slot terminals are not a constitutional form of gambling and proceeds from lottery have to go to education.
