An $8.9 Billion Loss for Sheldon Adelson Last Year

las-vegas-venetian-75x75The main advocate of anti-online gambling in the US, billionaire Sheldon Adelson, lost $8.9 billion in personal wealth last year. He dropped down from the 9th to the 23rd position on the list of world’s richest persons. The reasons for his money loss is the struggling gambling market in Macau, the fact that his website was hacked and the big settlement of $47 million with the US Justice Department due to a criminal charge. The top spot on the list of the richest people in the world is occupied by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates whose wealth went up to $9.1 billion last year. Second place is occupied by Carlos Slim from Mexico, while third place is taken by Warren Buffet.
