Skrill, a well established online payment provider, was finally taken over by Optimal Payment Plc, the company that owns its main competitor Neteller. According to the information provided by media reports, the deal was finalised for around €1.1 billion and the two companies are now expected to create an online payment product with global reach. The directors of Optimal Payments said that they entirely support the acquisition and pointed out that it would increase Optical Payments’ share. This deal was one of the most important in the online payment industry since it paves the path for Optimal Payments to become the leading e-wallet provider in the world.
