It has been reported that the UK casino, sports betting, poker and bingo operators spend an increasing amount of money on TV advertising every year from 2012 onwards. The total amount since then exceeds £500 million and that is until June this year. Reports suggest that the figure would be even higher as operators advertised even more during the Euro 2016. The amount that was spent in 2012 was a mere £81.2 million, whereas last year a total of £118.5 million was spent. If the trend continues the amount this year would exceed £123 million. TV advertising in the UK is permitted since 2007.
